EstateView platform overview

What is EstateView?

EstateView is a web-based estate planning platform built for financial advisors, estate planning attorneys and CPAs. It models estate planning strategy combinations in real time, calculates federal and state estate tax, and generates client-ready presentations, letters and PowerPoints from a single platform.

Who is EstateView designed for?

Practitioners who regularly navigate trust structures, estate tax exposure, charitable giving strategies and retirement distribution planning. Whether the engagement is a straightforward estate plan or a complex multi-strategy one, EstateView provides the calculation depth and the client-ready materials to handle it.

What strategies does EstateView cover?

  • Grantor Retained Annuity Trusts (GRATs), including Rolling and Leveraged GRATs
  • Qualified Personal Residence Trusts (QPRTs)
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRATs, CRUTs, Flip NIMCRUTs)
  • Charitable Lead Annuity Trusts (CLATs)
  • Self-Canceling Installment Notes (SCINs) and Private Annuities
  • Conventional Installment Sales to Grantor Trusts
  • Life Estate and Remainder Interests
  • Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts (ILITs)
  • Large gift strategies, discounted gifting and annual exclusion planning

The platform automatically applies current and historical Section 7520 rates, AFR rates, mortality tables, estate and gift tax exemptions, and annual exclusions.

Does EstateView calculate state estate tax?

Yes. EstateView calculates federal estate tax and the state estate tax for every jurisdiction that levies one — twelve states plus the District of Columbia. Select the client's state and the platform applies the correct exemption and rates automatically, so the client sees the complete picture rather than the federal calculation alone.

Is EstateView a document drafting platform?

No. EstateView is a calculation, modeling and illustration platform. It does not draft legal documents, though it provides sample provisions and planning guidance for certain trust structures. For AI-assisted document review, see EstateView AI.

Using the platform

What are the Comprehensive Planning modules?

They model a client's complete estate plan across lifetime and post-death scenarios — the impact of each planning technique, the death of each spouse, income tax effects, and projections through the surviving spouse's expected lifespan. Variables adjust in real time with instant recalculation, and separate modules are available for married couples and single individuals.

What client-facing materials does it generate?

Client letters summarizing inputs, assumptions and planning techniques with full-color illustrations; PowerPoint presentations showing plan structure and outcomes; side-by-side strategy comparison tables; and Excel exports with year-by-year calculations for the full trust term or projected lifespan.

Can I share an analysis with a client or colleague?

Yes. You can send an electronic copy of a completed analysis, giving the recipient access to the selected calculator with your data for up to 14 days, so they can interact with the numbers and see how the strategy behaves.

Can I save my work and come back to it?

Yes. From the File menu you can save or save-as to store the analysis on your own device. If a session is interrupted, your most recently entered data is available next time you open EstateView on the same device.

What devices does it work on?

EstateView is web-based and runs in any modern browser on Windows, Mac and tablets. There is nothing to install.

Security and the company

Is my client's data stored anywhere?

EstateView does not store client data on its servers. Data is transmitted encrypted, processed, and returned to your device; scenarios and AI chats are kept in your browser's encrypted local storage. No personally identifiable client information is required — many practitioners use initials or placeholder names. EstateView is AICPA SOC 2 Type II compliant.

Who built EstateView?

EstateView was built by Alan S. Gassman, an inductee of the NAEPC Estate Planning Hall of Fame and founding attorney of Gassman, Crotty & Denicolo, P.A., in collaboration with Jerry M. Hesch, Martin M. Shenkman, Jonathan G. Blattmachr and Robert S. Keebler. It is owned by Haddon Hall Publishing, LLC and has been in development since 2012.
